Side by side
The same list of things: their base, a seat for every barber, texting, a website and forms. Booksy includes almost all of that already, which is why its number is the honest one on this page — the cost is the per-head fee and the commission.

Every Booksy figure here is their own published US price, read in September 2026, and it can change without notice — check it yourself before you switch. Our own numbers are the $19 base plus one receptionist band.
Three things that will cost you
Booksy's $29.99 covers you. Every other barber in the shop is $20 a month on top of it, forever. Three chairs is $69.99. Five is $109.99. Eight is $169.99. Our base is $19 whether you have one chair or eight, and hiring a barber costs you nothing at all.
$10 minimum, $100 maximum, one time per new client. A $35 cut clears that $10 floor by fifty cents, so a barbershop pays essentially the whole 30% with none of the minimum's protection. Ten new clients in a month is $105 — more than the subscription that is meant to be the expensive part. Turn it off the day you decide to leave, not the day you cancel: there is a documented case of Boost being switched off on the 4th and a $51 charge still landing on the 8th.
Booksy's entire data-export help section is one sentence: email their support. A human then builds the file by hand, so it takes days and the columns are different every time. Ask for it on day one, not day ten. Ours you export yourself, in one button, whenever you like — including on the way out.
Switching off Booksy
One thing has to happen on day one and one thing has to happen the day you decide. The rest is the ordinary fortnight.
Not the day you cancel. Boost is 30% of a new client's first visit, and there is a documented case of it being switched off on the 4th of the month with a $51 charge still landing on the 8th. Switch it off, screenshot the setting with the date visible, and check the next two invoices.
There is no self-serve export. The fastest route in practice: Booksy Biz on desktop → the ? Help icon → Support → ask the agent for your client list as a CSV, and they send the file in the chat. A person makes it by hand, so start early. Your appointments you can pull yourself: Reports → Appointments → Appointments List → Download.
The columns vary every time, so we map whatever arrived rather than expecting a fixed format, and we show you a preview before anything is written. Assume your client notes are lost and be pleased if they are not — Booksy does not document them as exportable.
Booksy keeps taking bookings and we mirror them within the hour. Meanwhile we build your site on your own domain, and you forward your phone to the receptionist — always, or only when nobody picks up in four rings. Booksy is month-to-month with no setup fees, so you cancel at cycle end once the last Booksy booking has been served.
Nothing is charged and nothing is switched off at Booksy until you say so. Ring the demo number first if you want to hear the receptionist answer before you type anything.
